These terms govern your use of KindScan. By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them. They are written in plain language — if anything is unclear, email us.

The service

KindScan is a product safety scanner for families. It helps you assess whether a product's ingredients are appropriate for each member of your household based on the health profiles you create. It is an informational tool, not a substitute for medical advice.
Verdicts are generated by our AI safety engine based on your profile data and publicly available ingredient research. We work hard to keep them accurate, but we cannot guarantee that every verdict is correct or complete. When health is on the line, consult a qualified professional.

Your account

You must be 18 or older to create an account.
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
One account may be used by two adults on the same family plan (Plus only). Sharing your account with people outside your household is not permitted.

Subscriptions and billing

KindScan is free to use with limits. KindScan Plus is a paid subscription available monthly ($4.99/month) or annually ($34.99/year).
Subscriptions purchased through the Apple App Store or Google Play are governed by those platforms' billing terms. Subscriptions purchased directly on our website are processed by Stripe.
Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel any time from the App Store, Google Play, or your account settings on our website. Cancellation stops the next renewal; no partial refunds are issued for the current billing period unless required by law.
Prices may change. We will notify active subscribers at least 30 days before a price increase takes effect.

Your content

Your family profiles and scan history belong to you — not us. We use them only to run the app for you.
The family profiles, scan history, and notes you create belong to you. You can export or delete them at any time. We use your content only to operate the service — see our Privacy Policy for details.
Safety evaluations are not a substitute for medical advice. Consult a healthcare provider for medical decisions.

Disclaimers

In plain English: KindScan works hard to give you accurate information, but we're an informational tool — not a medical device, and not a guarantee. If something goes wrong, our legal responsibility is limited to what you paid us.
KindScan is provided "as is." We make no warranty that it will be error-free, uninterrupted, or suitable for any particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, our liability for any claim arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. If we make material changes, we will notify you inside the app before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

Acceptable use

You may not use KindScan to scrape or reproduce our ingredient database, safety engine, or verdict logic for commercial purposes. You may not attempt to reverse-engineer or interfere with the service.
